Power distribution companies in Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, which have accrued high fees payable to power plants, are likely to allow the Center to make use of 10-year concessional loans under the Rs 90,000 Crore Infusion Scheme.

Nevertheless, utilities in most other states, including Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Karnataka , Madhya Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir, will be able to draw on their existing working capital or state receivables, sources said.

The outstanding fees of Rajasthan distribution companies are the highest at Rs 31,682 crore, followed by Tamil Nadu at Rs 13,485 crore, data available for February on the Prapti Power Ministry portal showed.
