TSPL Celebrates World Environment Day

Talwandi Sabo Power Limited (TSPL), Punjab’s largest Thermal Power Plant observed World environment Day with great deal of enthusiasm and zeal. A series of events and programs besides plantation drive were organized to reaffirm TSPL’s commitment to environment protection and sustainable practices.

TSPL is a home to myriad of flora and fauna with a green belt spread across 700 acres of land with over 4 lakhs trees. Approx 500numberof saplings were planted on the occasion of environment day in TSPL premises by Senior Environment Engineer from PCCB along with CEO and other senior leaders from TSPL. During the interaction with the PPCB representatives Vikas Sharma CEO TSPL apprised them about the various environment friendly measures undertaken by the plant to ensure ‘zero harm, zero waste and zero discharge’from plant operations.

Senior Environment Engineer, PPCB&other officials praised company’s efforts towards adopting environment friendly practices and remarked,” I am delighted to learn about several measures enamored with the sprawling green belt and bio diversity within the plant premised. I look forward to TSPL setting records on environment friendly practices for other companies to emulate”.
Vikas Sharma , CEO and WTD TSPL highlighted company’s efforts towards reducing carbon footprints and said,”At TSPL we have adopted world class state of the art technology ensuring zero harm to the environment. Aligned to Vedanta group’s philosophy of working relentlessly towards ‘Desh Ki ZarooratonkeLiye’ TSPL is committed to environment protection alongside balancing the ecosystem and bio-diversity.”

The program culminated with felicitation ceremony recognizing winners of various competitionsuch as environment quiz, photography competition & volunteers contributed in environment activities such as under guidance of PPCB.
