Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) launched a separate platform for better customer convenience on Thursday following directives from the Central Government to promote the use of indigenous coal by reducing its imports.

The platform has been introduced by the Directors of Company B. Bhaskar Rao (Planning and Projects) and S. Chandrasekhar (Operations & PAW) is here.

According to the two directors, the portal was launched to improve customer-friendly transactions by easing the process of coal purchase.

As per the new program, prospective and new customers can easily access the portal for the acquisition of the necessary quality and quantity of coal from any of Singareni’s rail and road loading points. They explained that, according to the customer’s requirement, consistency will be of the utmost importance and that the company is ready to supply any quantity of fuel.

To that end, efforts would also be made to increase the production of coal, if necessary.

Executive Director of the Coal Movement J. Allwyn, Managing Directors K. Ravishankar (Marketing & CDN), K. Nagabushan Reddy (CPP) and G. Venkateshwar Reddy (Quality), Deputy Chief Executive Officer N.V. Rajashekar (Marketing), T. M. Srinivas Rao (Marketing) and M. Venkateshwarlu and other officials were present during the launch of the site.

In line with the changes in the coal market in the country, the SCCL has simplified coal sales and launched the portal, the Directors said, adding that G-8 grade and G-15 grade coal are ready for shipment to all Singareni coal handling plants (CHPs).

Together with current customers who have coal connections from Singareni, prospective customers who have no linkages and even new customers can purchase coal by registering on the portal.

Recognizing that the Center had taken a decision to reduce the import of coal and to promote the use of local coal, the executives of the SCCL said that the coal companies in the country had relaxed the processing of coal purchases by customers, since the import of coal results in a significant advantage for those industries that are solely dependent on coal.
