Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), The Singrauli based coal mining giant, celebrated Khanik Abhinandan Diwas on Saturday. The grand celebration was restricted to a small function maintaining COVID protocols. Chairman-cum-Managing Director, NCL Shri P.K.Sinha graced the occasion as Chief Guest while, Shri Bimlendu Kumar, Director (Personnel), Dr. Anindya Sinha Director (Technical/Operations), Shri R N Dubey Director (Finance), Shri S S Sinha Director (Technical/project and Planning), JCC Members Shri P K Singh were present as guests of honour. Area General Manager, Head of Department, and other officials joined the ceremony through online mode.
Speaking to NCL employees through VC on occasion, Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of NCL Shri Prabhat Kumar Sinha paid tribute to the hard-working, dedicated coal warriors who sacrificed their lives to this pandemic while on duty fulfilling the energy aspiration of the country.
Shri Sinha also assured uninterrupted coal supply to the nation in this COVID pandemic underlining the importance of coal production in times of this global disaster. He said it is the dedication of our all coal miners who are tirelessly working round the clock in coalfields for the production and supply of coal.
He briefed the comprehensive efforts made by NCL in fighting the COVID and reiterated the company’s commitment towards the health safety of all employees and their kin. CMD NCL through his message informed about the steps taken by NCL on production, environment, CSR, employment generation, renewable energy, employee welfare and research and development as well as steps to curb COVID.
In his address, he urged everyone to follow the COVID appropriate behavior and COVID protocols and to be united with all courage to defeat this pandemic.
Earlier in the morning CMD and Functional Directors paid floral tribute to Saheed Smarak and Miners Statue at the company’s headquarters premises. CMD NCL also hoisted the flag of Coal India.
NCL is one of the flagship subsidiaries of Coal India Limited, produced 115MT of coal in last fiscal, the company supplied more than 108MT of coal for energy aspiration of the country. The company is spending more than 100 Crore in its Corporate Social Responsibility for the upliftment of society in and around.
