MUMBAI : In order to give relief to the citizens during the lockdown period and to encourage payment of electricity bills in order to recover dues, BEST Undertaking on Friday announced two schemes for consumers in the island city.
The first scheme will be full payment upfront. “If the consumer pays November bill in full immediately, the DPC (delayed payment charges) and IoA (interest on arrears) on electricity usage of April to October will be waived off. Also 2% rebate will be given on bills during the same months,” said BEST spokesperson Manoj Varade.
The second scheme will be payment by instalment. “If the November bill is paid in 3 equal installments, DPC and IoA on electricity usage of April to October 2020 will be waived off while 1% rebate will be given on bills during the same month. IoA will not be charged if all the installments are paid in time,” he added.
