COVID-19 testing of BCCL workers to be conducted in camps

Dhanbad, August 16: The Personnel General Manager Administration on Saturday informed that Bharat Coking Coal Ltd. (BCCL) will conduct a two-day camp in all its residential colonies to conduct COVID-19 tests of all employees, officers and their families. He informed that with the help of the District Administration Dhanbad, a two-day camp on August 16 and 17 will be organized for the BCCL’s residential colonies and people residing in their area.

They will be tested for fatal diseases like COVID-19. The test will be conducted by Rapid Antigen Task. Coal City residents will be examined in Coal City Hospital while Jagjivan Nagar residents will be examined in Kalyan Bhavan, Washery Division Dispensary, CCWO Colony Saraidhela, Personnel Nagar Dispensary, Dhanbad on both the days. According to General Manager SK Sinha, other people residing in these areas who are not BCCL officers, employees or their family members can also get examined for COVID-19.

There was a constant surge in demand for a collective testing of COVID-19 in the coal building because of regular occurrence of positive cases of COVID-19 among officials, employees and their families. Such testing had already been conducted in many other companies of Coal India. A similar examination at the regional level also is being demanded now. The trade union leaders have raised their demand for collective examination of COVID-19 in collieries and regional colonies on social media too.

A Teams of doctors have been formed at various dispensaries for such examination camps. Under which, Dr. Shashwati Pandit for Personnel Nagar Dispensary, Dr. M. Murmu for CCW Dispensary and Dr. Nikita Anoop for Coal Nagar Hospital have been appointed as Nodal Officers.
