Ranchi: On the occasion of 151st birth anniversary of father of nation, Mahatma Gandhi, Central Mines Provident Fund (CMPFO), a statutory body under the ministry of coal, to administer different schemes of provident fund, pension and deposit linked insurance for coal mines workers, inaugurated the Super New-generation Information and Data Handling Initiative (SUNIDHI).
The inauguration was done at headquarter of CMPFO at Dhanbad by setting PF and pension of three retired employees of Bharat Coking Coal Limited(BCCL) in the virtual presence of coal secretary Anil Kumar Jain, Coal India Limited (CIL) chairman Parmod Agrawal besides others.
SUNIDHI, an ambitious information technology project, is an effort to digitize all provident fund and pension related activities of CMPFO so as to make the system more robust. This software application is running from its data centre in Hyderabad in sync with Disaster Recovery Centre at Bhubaneswar.
All the 23 offices of CMPFO are connected to the data centre through MPLS-VPN using RailTel Connectivity with a backup link from BSNL. The system has been made completely operational from today.
On the occasion, CIL chairman Agrawal emphasized on further simplification and integration of ERP of CIL and SCCL with CMPFO for seamless transaction and flow of PF and Pension data information.
Commissioner of CMPFO Animesh Bharti underscored the salient feature of the revived software.
He said applications run in a secured and controlled environment with multiple levels of authorization, strong data checks and balances resulting in data integrity. He said it is a fully integrated system resulting in faster throughput, provides real time information, reducing possibility of redundancy, errors.
Apart from this, he said the system has in-built facilities to record system changes and keep audit trail and for issue escalation and resolution with complete reporting, capable of interface with 3rd pay systems, mobile devices, apps etc.
The commissioner informed that a detailed and definitive roadmap is being discussed for strengthening and augmenting various services touch points, incorporating ‘atmanirbhar facilities’ as well as embedding collaboration tools for all stakeholders.
