Ranchi, Sept.20: Coal India Limited (CIL) made an amendment in the composition of departmental promotion committee (DPC) for promotion from E7 to E8 grade. A notification to this effect was issued from the policy cell of personnel division of the company on September 9.
The amendment was done on the basis of approval given in the 410th meeting of CIL Board held on September 2 this year. It will be implemented with immediate effect and thus direction for the same has been sent to all concerned departments for information and necessary action.
Before amendment the board used to comprise of (i) Presiding Officer, who used to be chairman, CIL or his nominee (ii) Members – (a) Two CMDs to be nominated by Chairman, CIL – (b) Director (P&lR), CIL – (c) Director (T)/ Director(F), CIL depending upon the discipline.
After amendment board will comprise of (i) Presiding Officer – Chairman, CIL or his nominee (ii) Members – (a) Two CMDs of the Subsidiary Company – (b) Director (P&lR), CIL – (c) Concerned CIL Functional Director – (d) One external expert (optional)
The members of the Selection Board shall be nominated by Chairman, CIL 2. External expert for specialist disciplines only as decided by the Chairman, CIL. 3. The Honorarium for the external expert, if nominated, shall be decided by the Chairman, CIL not exceeding the sitting fees of Independent Directors for Board subcommittee meetings.
