Ranchi, August 9: All central Trade Union of coal including Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), Hind Mazdoor Sabha (HMS), All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC), Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) and Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) has decided called off strike on August 18 till further date, after a virtual meeting held on August 9, 2020.
In a joint press release by all they have shared that, “the Indian government is backing down from the commercial coal mining auction decision, so they have called off their strike decision on August 18 till further date. Protests against commercial mining will continue.”
Previously they have proposed one day strike on 18 August 2020 against the 6 demands listed in letter to the Ministry of Coal, in all coal mines of Coal India & its subsidiary and Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) after a virtual meeting held on July 15, 2020.
