Three coal mine workers died in mishap in the Singareni Collieries in the state of Peddapalli on Tuesday morning, when the workers were blowing up at the site. Misfiring during the blast resulted in the death of the workers.
The bodies of the three workers were brought out of the mine, according to the initial information available. The condition of two more workers is said to be critical, reports indicate that they have also died.
Sources state that the victims belonged to a private company and were contract workers hired for blasting. The mishap occurred in the open cast-1 mine. Five other workers were also reportedly injured in the Ramagiri mandal accident. The bodies of the victims who died were transferred to the local Godavarikhani Hospital for post-mortem.
