BCCL owes around 300 crores from power companies

Dhanbad, August 5: BCCL General Managers had a monthly coordination meeting, in which, CMD has directed to increase recovery from power companies to improve the financial position of the company. He also said, BCCL owes around 300 crores from power companies, but these companies are unable to pay due to the current economic crisis.

He said that to increase the realization of the company, we have to increase the coal dispatch. Only by increasing realization, we will be able to easily complete our monthly target. He emphasized on cost cutting, asked for timely loading of racks and racks should only be requested at siding if there is sufficient coal for loading them. This will benefit the company from paying unnecessary demurrages charges.

CMD said that the regional management should stop giving Sunday as a holiday in areas where production is zero or mines are closed. The meeting was attended by Technical Director/Operations; Rakesh Kumar, Technical Director Planning and Project; Chanchal Goswami, Finance Director; Samiran Dutta, and Personnel Director; PVKR Mallikarjun Rao, besides all the General Managers and Department Heads.

In the meeting, the issue of HRA of employees living in company housing once again came up. Personnel director Mr. Rao directed to immediately stop this allowance. He also instructed to shift the employees to vacant houses and stop HRA for them. He also asked to mark the long-absentee employees and terminate them.

CMD also directed to increase production using the capacity of the machines.
