Assam to regulate overloaded coal trucks along inter-state border

Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma asked the Transport department to prepare a Standard Operating Procedure outlining detailed restrictive measures to regulate the movement of over loaded coal trucks.

Sarma held a meeting with police, transport and tax department officials with a view to ensure compliance of Supreme Court judgement on movement of overloaded coal trucks.

The CM directed the Transport department to prepare a Standard Operating Procedure outlining detailed restrictive measures to regulate the movement of coal trucks through inter-state borders.

Sarma held a meeting with senior officials of Higher Education and PWD (Building &NH) department and reviewed the progress of ongoing infrastructure projects being implemented in the higher education sector.

While taking stock of construction of nine girls colleges in the minority dominated areas of the State, the Chief Minister asked officials of higher education department to take expeditious steps for launch of construction of the colleges.

He directed the PWD (Bldg) department to begin construction of all the nine colleges within August 15 and make them ready for launch of academic session in next two years.
