Andhra Pradesh working round the clock to provide uninterrupted power supply to hospitals, labs and quarantine centers

The Energy Department has specially focused on providing 24×7 power to hospitals and quarantine centers to ensure ongoing care for patients suffering from COVID.

Power utilities are working closely with the Medical and Health Department towards this goal.

According to an official release, Special Chief Secretary (Health, Medical and Family Welfare) K.S. Jawahar Reddy informed the Energy Department that the government had significantly expanded the testing infrastructure and set up a number of high-tech virus detection laboratories to facilitate the proper treatment of patients.

He sought the support of the Energy Department for the functioning of hospitals and quarantine centers without any interruption.

Energy Secretary N. Srikant said that the DISCOMs were designed to respond to power supply disruptions in hospitals and other health centers.

He claimed that the Operations & Maintenance wing was working around the clock to ensure power-free disruption to hospitals , laboratories and quarantine centres. For this purpose, special teams were formed.
