An MoU signed between CCL and Bokaro Dist Admin to renovate 100 Anganwadi centres

Bokaro, August 7: Central Coalfields Ltd. (CCL) has signed an MoU with the Bokaro District Administration, Jharkhand to upgrade 100 Anganwadi rural child care centres in Bokaro. The costing would be of Rs. 1.5 Lakh each. In an offer to give a better atmosphere and environment to the youngsters around 500 Anganwadi centres in the district would be renovated and outfitted, informed Mukesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, Bokaro.

“On this move we have set the goal to give a lucrative look (by colored painting) to the Anganwadi centres so that children can be attracted to spend more and more time in those centres,” he said.

As part of the Integrated Child Development Services program to combat child hunger and malnutrition, these centers were started by the Indian government in 1975.

“CCL will provide Rs 150 crore fund to renovate 100 Anganwadi centers to the district administration under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR),” informed an official.

Under the head of CSR and guidance of Gopal Singh CMD CCL, a lot of works are being carried down continuously in the public interest, said AK Singh.

“CCL is also conducting public interest works in Ramgarh, Hazaribagh, Ranchi and Latehar under the CSR. CCL will continue to extend all possible support to Bokaro district administration,” added Singh.

Beside others CCL Chief Manager CSR S.S. Lal, District Planning Officer Divesh Gautam, Assistant Manager Ashish Kumar and PRD officials and staff were present there. In the first phase 25 Anganwadi centers each in Gomia, Chandrapura, Bermo and Nawadih blocks would be rejuvenated; work will be started soon, said an official.
