All plants comply with the Lockdown and Social Distance Guidelines NTPC Vindhyachal will achieve 100% PLF by 13 April 2020.

The Corona pandemic failed to defuse the spirit of NTPC, India's largest power producer and PSU under the Ministry of Power, by providing the nation with uninterrupted power supplies. Every power station in Maharatna has risen to the occasion and operates at its optimum level under the support and guidance of the Ministry of Power headed by Shri R K Singh, Minister of State of the Union (I / c), for Power and New & Renewable Energy.

The COVID-19 crisis underscored the importance of power utilities, which have assumed greater significance as electricity is extremely critical to the smooth functioning of a number of sectors of the economy. NTPC also manages the supply of coal to the continuous supply of electricity efficiently.

Even as NTPCians are on the front line and provide a round-the-clock power supply, NTPC has stated that all its plants adhere strictly to the Lockdown and Social Distance Guidelines. Beyond power output, the PSU makes a rich contribution to social welfare activities for underprivileged sections and migrant workers by providing ration and medical assistance. NTPC 's management monitors developments closely so that every corner of the country remains adequately empowered in its fight against COVID-19.

Among its fleet of power stations NTPC Vindhyachal is the largest power station in the country that achieved more than 100% PLF on 13 April 2020 and the second 660MW unit of India's first ultra-supercritical power station NTPC Khargone became commercial during this period, demonstrating NTPC's commitment to excellence in operations despite the lockdown.

With a total installed capacity of NTPC Group of 62110 MW, NTPC has 70 Power Stations, i.e. 24 Coal, 7 Combined Cycle Gas / Liquid Fuel, 1 Hydro, 13 Renewables and 25 JV Power Stations.
