Finance Minister T Harish Rao on Sunday reiterated that the State government will extend financial assistance to help the poor in Siddipet town to build 2 BHK houses once Municipal elections are completed.
Addressing an election campaign in the 4th ward here, the Minister said that many poor people were living in makeshift houses in Housing Board Colony, THR Nagar and Bhavani Nagar of fourth ward who would be given the fund to build their own houses.
Pointing out that the government had built 2.460 2BHK houses, Harish Rao has Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has sanctioned another 1,000 houses. “Since many poor people used to live in government lands in the 4th ward, the government regularised their pattas by issuing 58 and 59 GOs,” he said. When the locals said some more people need to get pattas, Harish Rao assured them that it would be done after the elections.
Saying that they will provide housing to all the homeless, the Minister has said that they have changed the face of the fourth ward by laying new roads, giving new electricity lines, newly built colonies, and providing drinking water.
Saying Siddipet town used to reeling under severe drinking water crisis, he has said they have not provided drinking water to each house. Rao has said the groundwater table has also increased considerably as the Komaticheruvu is brimming with Kaleshwaram water round the year.
Stating that he is building a new house in the fourth ward, the Minister has said he will be going to a citizen of 4th ward soon. Elaborating various development works undertaken, he has said they have transformed Siddipet town by building modern Government Hospital, making Komaticheruvu a model tank, improving the greenery, erecting street lights and many others.
Opposition parties are never concerned about the welfare of the people, Rao has said the Bharatiya Janata Party has increased petrol and diesel prices 17 times besides increasing the price of LPG cylinders to an unaffordable level. He has said that they have spent Rs 1,000 for catching each money to free the Siddipet town from Monkey menace besides making the Siddipet free from stray dogs, domestic pigs and mosquitoes.
He has urged the voters from 4th ward to elect TRS candidate K Kavitha with a huge majority in the election. TRS leaders Radhakrishna Sharma, K Sampath Reddy, Jaipal Reddy and Swaroopa and others were present.
Earlier, the Minister has also participated in door-to-door election campaign in 17th ward of Siddipet Municipality.
