CIL asked subsidiary units to be specific about reason behind less production

Ranchi: The Coal India Limited has directed general managers of all of its subsidiary units across the country to furnish specific reasons in case of shortfall against the daily average plan of coal production for the month to ensure that issues can be addressed suitably.

The direction was given to augment dispatch and achieve the materialization plan strategically for which performance assessment of off take and loading against the daily average plan is essential.

A letter issued from CIL on October 19 informed this.

Many times the reason behind shortfall is given ‘less transportation to siding’. Thus the letter suggests to give specific reason behind less transportation in the daily report as well as in the forecast in case reason behind the shortfall is given less transportation to siding.

The letter explains how different subsidiaries are lagging behind is daily production target in the month of October till October 18.

Easter Coalfields Limited has average daily production of 112 thousand tonne per day against it’s target of 135 thousand per day while ,BCCL has 77 thousand per day production against it’s target of 85 thousand per day.

Similarly CCL is 29 thousand tonnes behind its per day target of 220 thousand tonne. NCL is 2000 tonne behind its target of 320 thousand tonne. WCL is 9 thousand tonne behind from its target of 155 thousand per day.

SECL and MCL, which have targets of 475 thousand and 460 thousand tonne per day respectively, are lagging behind 100 thousand tonne and 74 thousand tonne per day.
