Madhya Pradesh Electric Board to cut connections of 7 lakhs electricity bill defaulters

Company’s financial condition deteriorated due to non-payment of electricity bill over past several years

Bhopal, August 23: Chief General Manager of Western Region Power Distribution Company said that connections of more than 7and a half lakhs consumers will be cut due to non-payment of electricity bills since the last several years.

The general manager said to the media that the number of consumers not paying the electricity bills has increased considerably over the last several years. As a result, the company’s financial health has deteriorated. Despite being warned multiple times, they have failed to pay their electricity bills.

Due to this, the company has prepared a list of all the consumers not paying electricity bills and has put them in the defaulter’s category, initiating further action of cutting their connections.
