Ranchi, August 23: Jharkhand Renewable Energy Development Agency (JREDA) in the state has planned to install rooftop solar power plants in houses in different parts of the state in days to come.

The idea is to play its pro active role in making Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Surkasha Evam Utthan Mahabhiyan (PMKUSUM)lauched by ministry of New and Renewable (MNRE) successful.

JREDA chairman K.K.Verma informed this to www.coalnet.in saying an advertisement in this regard will be published soon and that it will carry detailed information regarding the plan of the state government.

“Boond Boond Se Ghada Bharta Hai (drops help fill pitcher),” is the idea behind the planning of the state government.

Asked Verma to elaborate he said: “We have planned to install solar power panels in houses. If we could install one solar power panel of 3KW at each house rooftop in a 3lakh house in a town we will generate 90 lakh KW solar power, which is equal to 90MW. In case this is done in 10 district with some more targets we will be able to get 1GW power, which is a good quantity. It will help reduce the budget of the state on purchase of power. Those having power panels will also be benefitted. They will be able to get free power and sell surplus power.”

Asked about installation charge, he said: “Though installation charge is heavy but there is a provision of subsidy which will make installation cost cheaper.”

Asked further, Verma suggested referring to the PM KUSUM scheme of MNRE for an idea. “We are going to implement PMKUSUM component A,” he summed up hurriedly.

When referred to the PM KUSUM scheme it came to fore that the scheme is for farmers for installation of solar pumps and grid connected solar and other renewable power plants in the country. The scheme aims to add solar and other renewable capacity of 25,750MW by 2022 with total central financial support of Rs 34,422 crore including service charges to the implementing agencies.

The scheme consists of three components, Component A is 10,000 MW of Decentralized Ground Mounted Grid Connected Renewable Power Plants of individual plant size up to 2 MW, .Component B is Installation of 17.50 lakh standalone Solar Powered Agriculture Pumps of individual pump capacity up to 7.5 HP and component C is Solarisation of 10 Lakh Grid-connected Agriculture Pumps of individual pump capacity up to 7.5 HP.
