(BCCL), CMD asking for clarification from CMS of the Central Hospital, BCCL management sent its reply on Thursday. In the reply, the BCCL said the company management is fully cooperating in its effort to tackle the pandemic, and will continue to do so in future. Along with converting the Central Hospital to Covid-19 Hospital, crores of rupees have been donated to the district administration from the CSR item, it said.
In addition, the nursing staff have been engaged in duty along with doctors. The company management is engaged with full dedication. Out of 640 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment at the Central Hospital, 538 patients have been discharged after being recovered. In addition to 100 beds in the Central Hospital, a 50-bed hospital has also been provided in Bhuli. It was decided with the district administration that BCCL would provide furniture, fixtures, and sanitation in the Bhuli hospital to convert it into a Dedicated Health Central. The District Administration will ensure to make arrangements for deployment of paramedical staff, doctors, and their food and lodging.
Send only serious patients to the COVID hospital
The reply to DC stated that only serious patients should be sent to the COVID hospital, as decided previously. Keeping in view the shortage of doctors and paramedical staff, the civil surgeon should be directed accordingly.
44 thousand BCCL families also to be taken care of
The letter stated that along with COVID patients, the company is responsible for providing medical facilities to nearly two lakh members of its 44 thousand employees. Along with their duty in the COVID hospital, the doctors are also running dispensaries, where doctors along with paramedical staff have been employed. Despite this, the company is sending its workers to the panel hospital.
