New Delhi, August 12: In view of the recent notification by the Coal Ministry mandating Quality Council of India-NABET for accreditation of prospecting and mining plan consultants, an accreditation scheme has been launched for mining plan preparation agencies, the Commerce and Industry Ministry said on Tuesday.
Under this scheme, The National Accreditation Board for Education and Training (NABET), which is a constituent board of the Quality Council of India (QCI), will start accepting the application from consultants on its dedicated web portal from now on, it said.
The Commerce and Industry Ministry said that the accreditation scheme, which has been developed by NABET has taken inputs from various stakeholders including consultants, regulatory agencies and other experts in the field.
It said that the QCI-NABET, through this accreditation scheme, will lead to creation of a pool of highly credible and capable consultant organisations in the country for prospecting and mining plan preparation.
These consultancies will help in augmenting the commercial mining of the allocated coal blocks to private investors, the ministry said
