Activists from Maharashtra Veej Grahak Sanghatna will hold placards and demonstrate outside collector’s office in over 20 districts in a statewide protest on ‘inflated’ electricity bills on August 10, to demand waiver in bills for those consuming up to 300 units.
Power consumers activist Pratap Hogade said “The government plans to give a rebate or reduction in electricity tariff. But we are demanding a waiver in bills for the 0-300 unit’s consumption for three months during Lockdown. Many people have suffered financially and are not in a position to pay bills.”
