Ranchi, July 30: NTPC has made special arrangements for its employees in view of the danger of Covid-19 so that employees can monitor their own health. It has been instructed to pay Rs 4000 for each employee for purchasing pulse oxygenator, infrared thermal scanner, sanitizer and mask.
Following this directive from NTPC, the Coal Mines Officers Association of India (CMOAI) has now demanded similar facilities for Coal India employees. CMOAI's BCCL President Anirudh Pandey and General Secretary Dr. Dinesh Kumar Singh have written to the Personnel Director of Coal India saying that Coal India is also a Maharatna company. In such a situation, he should also take care of the health of his employees. Coal India employees have also been working in lockdown under Essential Services. So if, in such a situation, they are also with them, then they can do their job by taking care of their health and avoiding Covid-19. This will also encourage the employees and make them work better.
In a letter to BCCL, CMOAI wrote that the branch commends the proactive/preventive measures of the management as well as consistent support of officers to fight this global pandemic and have requested for one time special reimbursement for procurement of medical items such as infrared Thermal Scanner, Pulse Oximeter, Masks, Sanitizers etc for protection & self monitoring of health during COVID-19.
CMOAI believes availability of these items at individual level will not only ensure self monitoring of health & personal hygiene but it will also help management in combating COVID-19 in a broader way.
