In Chhattisgarh, about 15 thousand new Covid positive patients have been identified during last 24 hours. With this, the total number of COVID-19 cases in Chhattisgarh mounted to 5,16,412. Currently, 1,24,303 people are being treated in hospitals or in home isolation. According to the data given by the state government, 138 people died due to corona infection during last 24 hours.
AIR correspondent reports that,in view of the increasing number of corona infected patients in Chhattisgarh, the state government has decided to reserve fifty percent of total beds in private hospitals for Covid patients.
Steps are also being taken to prevent the spread of corona infection in the state from the workers and others persons coming back from other states. Quarantine centers are being set up in rural areas. In Raipur district, quarantine centers have been set up in all 417 gram panchayats.
Meanwhile, social organizations and other institutions are also coming forward to help the government to deal with the Corona crisis.
South Eastern Coal Fields Limited has provided one RT-PCR machine and two deep freezers to Bilaspur Medical College. Officers and employees of Dhamdha Tehsil office of Durg district have donated two oxygen concentrator to the Dhamdha Covid Care Center.
Apart from this, various industrial institutions and Banks in the capital Raipur donated medical and other equipments worth about rupees one and a half crore to the state government.
